Product Introduction

DESU® Spray-type DCPA is a high-performance pharmaceutical excipient manufactured through an advanced spray-drying process that forms spherical, highly porous particles. Its unique microstructure provides a significantly higher specific surface area than crystalline grades, making it an ideal carrier for liquid, oily, or low-dose active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The spherical particle morphology ensures excellent powder flow and low abrasive wear on tablet tooling, while its deformation behavior under compression delivers robust tablet hardness even at high production speeds. DESU® Spray-type DCPA is chemically inert, non-hygroscopic, and compatible with a wide range of APIs, serving as a versatile filler-binder for oral solid dosage forms.

Product Feature

  • Spherical, porous microstructure with high specific surface area
  • Superior liquid and oil adsorption capability
  • Excellent powder flowability for high-speed direct compression
  • Good compressibility with favorable deformation properties
  • Low abrasive properties to protect tablet press tooling
  • Chemically inert and non-hygroscopic
  • Ideal carrier for liquid API solidification

Product Application

DESU® Spray-type DCPA is primarily used as a high-capacity adsorption carrier for liquid, oily, and semi-solid active pharmaceutical ingredients such as vitamin E, fish oil, and herbal extracts, enabling efficient liquid-to-solid conversion for tablet compression. It is also widely applied in direct compression formulations where superior powder flow and compressibility are required, particularly for low-dose or highly active APIs that benefit from homogeneous distribution within a high-surface-area matrix. Its unique porous structure makes it especially valuable for formulating soft-gel alternatives in tablet form, as well as for chewable tablets and orally disintegrating tablets where rapid and uniform API dispersion is critical.
