Product Introduction

DESU® DC Starch is derived from non-GMO corn starch via a proprietary spray-drying process, designed specifically for direct compression applications. Unlike regular native corn starch with poor flow and compressibility, this modified starch combines dilution and disintegrant functions in a single component. It supports robust tablet formation at low lubricant levels and ensures rapid disintegration even at high tablet hardness. The product complies with Chinese Pharmacopoeia standards for corn starch and is registered as a pharmaceutical excipient, making it a reliable, cost-effective choice for global formulation development from early R&D to commercial production.

Product Feature

  • Superior Flowability with Angle of Repose <30°
  • Excellent Compressibility for High-Quality Tablet Formation
  • Rapid Disintegration Performance for Improved Bioavailability
  • Self-Lubricating Property to Reduce Lubricant Usage
  • Simplified Formulation with Single Functional Excipient
  • High Batch-to-Batch Consistency and Process Stability
  • Compliance with Pharmacopoeia Standards for Safety Assurance

Product Application

DESU® DC Starch is primarily applied in direct compression tablet and hard capsule manufacturing across nutraceutical, food, veterinary and pharmaceutical sectors. It is the ideal filler-disintegrant for low-dose formulations requiring uniform content distribution, and is widely adopted in dietary supplement tablets, chewable candies, pet health products and veterinary drugs to minimize formulation complexity and raw material costs. For pharmaceutical applications, it supports rapid formulation development during IND stage and reduces commercial production costs in generic and innovative drug products. It is not recommended for wet granulation processes.
