DISPE® L-HPC is a versatile excipient widely applied in the production of oral solid dosage forms, demonstrating exceptional performance across multiple manufacturing techniques. It is a primary choice for direct compression processes, where it functions simultaneously as a dry binder and disintegrant at levels of 10–15%, and is equally effective in wet granulation—whether incorporated intragranularly to improve disintegration or extragranularly to enhance dissolution. For dry granulation via roller compaction, DISPE® L-HPC improves ribbon stability and granule yield while maintaining rapid disintegration. It is also the ideal disintegrant for orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs), enabling disintegration within seconds, and serves as a crucial processing aid in extrusion-spheronization for pellet production as well as a dispersion and glidant agent in capsule filling to ensure uniform drug distribution and swift release. Typical usage rates range from 2% to 8% for disintegration purposes, and 10% to 15% in direct compression formulations.
